How does it work?
Calls are made using a technology called VoIP. VoIP is an acronym for Voice Over IP, or in more common terms, telephone services over the Internet. In conjunction with a reasonable internet connection, VoIP can be used to save up to 90% on phone call costs.

I don't have an internet connection. Can you help me?
Yes. Computer Logic can connect you to the internet using our "Get Connected" package. This includes everything you need to get started with VoIP and includes one of the most competitive ADSL broadband deals anywhere in Australia.

I use dialup to connect to the internet. Will it work?
Not with your current connection, but Computer Logic can help get you connected to the internet via broadband. Chances are that it'll cost you less per month for broadband than you already spend on calls to your current ISP.

My internet connection is ADSL broadband. Will it work?
Yes it will, provided that your ADSL speed is 512/128kB or higher.

My internet connection is cable broadband. Will it work?
Yes it will, however you must realise that when you use cable broadband you are sharing your connection with everyone in your neighbourhood, so there may be occasions where the quality of the call is reduced. If you are prepared to put up with this, then cable is still an option. Alternatively, you can talk to us about our super-value ADSL broadband options.

Can I really call anyone in Australia?
Yes, you can call any land line within Australia for either 1 cent per minute or a 10 cent flat rate. Australian mobile calls are 25 cents per minute and rates for international calls can be seen here. Numbers such as 1900 and other "pay for time" services aren't available via VoIP, but you can continue to access them using your regular telephone line.

What is the best plan for me? 1 cent timed or 10 cents untimed?
Either plan can save you heaps! If your calls are often 10 minutes or more, then you should choose the 10 cent untimed plan. If you make a lot of short calls, then the 1 cent per minute plan may be better for you.

Can I keep my existing number?
Yes. Your existing number will stay the same. Depending on the options you choose, you can use a separate handset for VoIP calls or you can use the same phone for both incoming and outgoing calls. Either way you benefit from really cheap phone calls using your own phone!

Can I get a new number?
Yes, you can. We can even set you up with a new number in another area code so that distant friends can call you for the cost of a local call!

How much will I save?
The amount you save is really determined by your calling habits. As a guide, if most of your calls are to local and STD numbers, you could save over 90%.

For example - Lisa is on the Telstra 24 x 7 STD $2.50 capped plan. She averages about 4 calls a week or 20 calls a month, with each call lasting about 30 minutes.
Telstra Cost: 20 * 2.50 = $50.00
Internet Cost: 20 * 0.10 = $2.00

Lisa has saved a massive 96% on her phone calls

What if people ring me? Can they save too?
Yes. If you have distant family and friends then they may be able to call you for the cost of a local call! Please ask us for details.

What are the mobile call rates?
Australian mobile rates are 25 cents per minute.

What are the international call rates?
The rates for International calls can be seen here.

What payment options do you offer?
You may pay by cash or credit card on the day of installation.
Alternatively, you may want to ask us about our 6 months interest free terms, which are available to approved applicants.

Can I use this at work?
Yes. VoIP can be installed on any normal telephone line, please call us to discuss your needs.
